Shine Wellness & Recovery

You Found This Page. That Took Courage.

You do not have to have it figured out. You do not have to be ready. You just have to make one call, and we will take it from there.

Confidential. No pressure. We'll explain your options clearly. No commitment required.

We Know What You're Thinking Right Now.

Most people who call us have had these exact thoughts. You are not alone in them.

Before you do anything else, before you call, before you look at insurance, before you decide anything, we want to address the things that are probably running through your mind right now.

"I'm not sure I'm bad enough to need treatment."

There is no threshold you have to hit before you deserve help. If your substance use is affecting your life, your relationships, your work, your health, your sense of self, that is enough. You do not have to lose everything first.

"I've tried to stop before and it didn't work."

That does not mean recovery is not possible for you. It may mean the approach was wrong, the timing was off, or the support was not the right fit. At Shine, we take the time to understand what has and has not worked before, and we build around that.

"I'm scared of what people will think."

What you share with us is completely confidential, protected by federal law. Your employer, your family, and anyone else in your life will not know you called unless you choose to tell them.

"I can't afford treatment."

Most major insurance plans cover addiction treatment. We verify your benefits before your first appointment at no cost. If you are uninsured, call us anyway. We will help you find options.

"I don't want to go away. I have a job. I have kids."

Our programs are outpatient, meaning you live at home throughout treatment. You go to work. You pick up your kids. You keep your life. You just also get the clinical support you need to change it.

"I'm not ready."

Most people who call us say they were not sure they were ready either. Ready does not always come before the call. Sometimes the call is what creates the readiness. You do not have to feel ready. You just have to dial.

What Treatment at Shine Actually Looks Like

Not what you see in movies. Not what you are afraid of. Here is what it actually is.

For most people, the image of addiction treatment involves leaving home, losing control of your schedule, and sitting in a room with strangers talking about your worst moments. At Shine, treatment looks different.

You live at home. You keep your schedule as much as possible. You work with a licensed therapist who gets to know you as a person, not a case number. You build real skills for managing the emotions and situations that have driven your use. And you do it surrounded by people who are working through the same thing alongside you.

You Stay Home

Shine offers outpatient treatment, PHP, IOP, and standard outpatient. You attend treatment during the day or evening and return home every night. Your life does not stop. It gets better.

You Get a Real Therapist

You are assigned a licensed clinician who works with you individually throughout your treatment. They know your history, your goals, and your challenges, and your care plan is built around you specifically.

You Build Real Skills

Treatment at Shine is not just talking about what happened. It is building CBT and DBT skills, relapse prevention plans, and coping strategies you can use in real life, at work, at home, and in every situation that used to lead to use.

You Are Not Alone In The Room

Group therapy is one of the most powerful parts of recovery, not because you have to share things you are not ready to share, but because being in a room with people who genuinely understand what you are going through changes something. You will not be the only one.

Here Is Exactly What Happens When You Call

Ten to fifteen minutes. No pressure. No commitment. Just a conversation.

Most people have never called a treatment center before. The not-knowing is part of what makes it hard. So here is exactly what happens when you call Shine, step by step, nothing hidden.

Here's what to expect when you call.

What If I Need to Detox First?

We will tell you honestly, and we will not leave you to figure it out alone.

Some substances, particularly alcohol and certain medications, require medical supervision to stop safely. If that applies to you, we will tell you clearly and help you find a safe detox program before you start treatment with us.

We work with trusted detox partners across the North Shore and greater Boston. We will coordinate that referral directly, stay in contact while you are there, and have your placement in our PHP or IOP ready when you are medically stable.

If you are not sure whether you need detox, call us. We will ask you a few questions and give you an honest answer. Do not try to stop alcohol or certain medications abruptly on your own, call us first or go to an emergency room if you are experiencing severe symptoms.

Not sure if you need detox? Call us first, (617) 341-9944. We will help you figure out the right first step, whatever that is.

Not Sure Which Program Is Right for You?

You can also just call us. Our admissions team will conduct a thorough clinical assessment on your first call and recommend the right level of care for you, at no cost and with no obligation.
