Meaningful clinical support, 3 hours a day, 3 to 5 days a week. Flexible enough to fit your life.
Confidential. No pressure. We'll explain your options clearly.
Real clinical support, without putting your life on hold.
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides structured, evidence-based addiction treatment that fits around the demands of real life. At Shine Wellness & Recovery, our IOP runs 3 hours per day, 3 to 5 days per week, with both morning and evening scheduling options available.
IOP is designed for individuals who need more support than standard weekly outpatient therapy but have a stable living situation and can manage daily responsibilities, work, school, family, alongside treatment. It is also a common step down from PHP or inpatient care.
Like all of our programs, IOP at Shine is medically supervised, trauma-informed, and built around the individual, not a one-size-fits-all schedule.
Morning and evening options available so treatment fits around work, school, and family.
All care is supervised by our medical director and psychiatric nurse practitioner.
Every session and interaction is grounded in trauma-informed principles.
Three hours a day of focused, evidence-based care.
The core of IOP, facilitated group sessions covering recovery skills, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, and peer connection.
Regular one-on-one sessions with your assigned therapist using CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing tailored to your specific needs and goals.
On-site yoga, meditation, and mindfulness sessions woven into your treatment schedule to support whole-person healing beyond the clinical work.
Your case manager helps coordinate your care, connect you with community resources, and support your stability outside of treatment hours.
Our psychiatric nurse practitioner can prescribe and manage buprenorphine (Suboxone), Sublocade, Vivitrol, or oral naltrexone as part of your IOP treatment plan. Methadone is not offered onsite, we coordinate referrals when needed.
Evaluation and ongoing support for co-occurring mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, and trauma, provided by our psychiatric nurse practitioner.
We treat the whole person, not just the addiction.
At Shine, we believe effective addiction treatment has to address the whole person, the reasons behind the use, the experiences that shaped it, and the skills needed to build a different life. Our IOP integrates the most effective, research-backed therapies available, all delivered through a trauma-informed lens by a clinical team that takes the time to actually know you.
Identifies and changes the thought patterns and behaviors that drive substance use and support lasting recovery.
Builds practical skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
A collaborative, person-centered approach that strengthens your own internal motivation and commitment to change.
All programming is delivered with a deep understanding of how trauma shapes substance use, creating a safe, consistent space to heal.
IOP may be the right fit if any of the following apply.

You are stepping down from PHP or inpatient care and need continued clinical support.
You have a stable home environment and a support system in place.

Not sure which level of care is right for you? Our admissions team will conduct a thorough clinical assessment on your first call and recommend the program that best fits your situation. You can also take our free Level of Care Quiz to get a sense of where you might land.
We'll reach out to your insurance company, explain exactly what's covered, and walk you through any costs before you ever start treatment. No guessing, no hidden bills , just clear answers up front.
We accept most major insurance plans.
