Intensive, structured day treatment, 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. You go home every night.
Confidential. No pressure. We'll explain your options clearly.
The structure of inpatient care, without leaving your life behind.
A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is the highest level of outpatient care available. It provides the intensity and clinical structure of an inpatient setting during the day, while allowing you to return home to your family, your bed, and your life every evening.
At Shine Wellness & Recovery, our PHP runs 6 hours per day, 5 days per week. Each day is built around a structured schedule of therapy, skill-building, holistic programming, case management, and peer support, all overseen by our medical director and psychiatric nurse practitioner.
PHP is designed for individuals who need a higher level of clinical support than standard outpatient but do not require 24-hour supervision. It is often the first step after a medical detox, or a step down from inpatient residential care.
Note: If you require medical detox before starting PHP, we will coordinate a referral to one of our trusted detox partners and support your transition into our program once you are medically stable.
All care is supervised by our medical director and psychiatric nurse practitioner.
Every aspect of our program is built on a trauma-informed foundation.
Return to your family every evening while receiving intensive clinical care during the day.
Structure. Support. And home by dinner.
Every day in our PHP is thoughtfully structured to give you the maximum benefit from your time with us. A typical day includes a combination of the following:
One-on-one sessions with your assigned therapist using evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Facilitated group sessions covering recovery skills, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, and peer support, one of the most powerful components of the program.
On-site yoga, meditation, and mindfulness sessions designed to support the mind-body connection and build healthy coping tools that last beyond treatment.
Your case manager works with you on the practical side of recovery, connecting you with resources, coordinating care, and helping you build a stable foundation outside of treatment.
For clients who benefit from MAT, our psychiatric nurse practitioner can prescribe and manage buprenorphine (Suboxone), Sublocade, Vivitrol, or oral naltrexone as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Methadone is not offered onsite but we will coordinate a referral if needed.
Our psychiatric nurse practitioner conducts evaluations and provides ongoing psychiatric support for co-occurring mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, and trauma.
We treat the whole person, not just the addiction.
Addiction rarely exists in isolation. Most people struggling with substance use have also experienced trauma, loss, mental health challenges, or circumstances that made substances feel like the only way to cope. At Shine, we understand this. Every element of our PHP is built on a trauma-informed foundation, meaning we approach every client with the understanding that their history matters and that safety, trust, and choice are non-negotiable.
Our clinical team uses a combination of the most effective, research-backed therapies available:
Helps identify and change the thought patterns and behaviors that drive substance use.
Builds skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
A collaborative, person-centered approach that strengthens your own motivation and commitment to change.
All therapy and programming is delivered through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing the role of past trauma in present struggles and creating a safe space to heal.
PHP may be the right fit if any of the following apply.
You have recently completed medical detox and need structured support before stepping down to outpatient care.
You need a higher level of clinical care than standard outpatient but do not require overnight supervision.
Your substance use has significantly impacted your ability to manage daily responsibilities.
You have a co-occurring mental health condition that requires psychiatric support alongside addiction treatment.
Not sure which level of care is right for you? Our admissions team will conduct a thorough assessment on your first call and recommend the program that best fits your clinical needs and your life. You can also take our free Level of Care Quiz.
We'll reach out to your insurance company, explain exactly what's covered, and walk you through any costs before you ever start treatment. No guessing, no hidden bills , just clear answers up front.
We accept most major insurance plans.
