Then & Now
The Power of Recovery
Recovery is not a moment, it's a transformation. What starts in the darkest corners of active addiction can, one day at a time, become a life of purpose, health, and service to others. Rob G's story is proof that no one is too far gone, and that the same hands that once held onto addiction can one day help pull someone else out of it.

Before
In the grip of active addiction. Isolated, unwell, and running out of options.

After
Nearly 35 years in recovery. Strong, healthy, and dedicated every day to helping others find the same freedom.
Rooted in Recovery
Rooted in the North Shore Recovery Community
Although Rob G's recovery journey began in New York, it was on Massachusetts' North Shore where he built his life with his wife, Ana, raised his family, and became deeply rooted in the community he has proudly served for more than three decades.
Home
The community he calls home
The North Shore isn't simply where Rob G works, it is the community he calls home. It is where he has devoted his life's work, built lifelong friendships, and earned the trust and respect of the recovery community. That deep connection is one of the reasons Shine Wellness & Recovery was founded here.
Trust
Earned one relationship at a time
Rob G has earned the trust and respect of colleagues, referral partners, healthcare professionals, and the recovery community through consistency, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. His reputation wasn't built through advertising or titles, it was earned one relationship at a time by showing up, keeping his word, and standing beside people during some of the hardest moments of their lives.
Service
Giving back, quietly and often
Throughout the years, Rob G has quietly spent countless hours giving back to people experiencing homelessness throughout the North Shore, collecting donations, delivering clothing, food, and essential supplies, offering encouragement, and simply being present for those who often feel forgotten. Helping others has never been something Rob G does only because it's his profession, it's simply who he is.
For many throughout the North Shore recovery community, Rob G isn't simply known as a counselor or program director, he's someone people have trusted for decades with some of the most important moments of their lives.

Passing It On
A Heart for Teaching Others How to Recover
Rob G has never been someone who simply found recovery and kept it to himself. From the early days of his own sobriety, he felt a calling to pass on what he had learned, to sit with people in their hardest moments, and to show them that lasting change is possible.
His teaching isn't formal. It happens in coffee shops, in meeting rooms, on phone calls late at night, and in the quiet moments when someone finally believes they can do it. Rob G teaches by example. He believes recovery is learned through connection, repetition, and the willingness to keep showing up, one day at a time, for yourself and for others.
For Rob G, the greatest gift of recovery is the chance to help someone else find it. That purpose is the heartbeat of Shine Wellness & Recovery.
